Tough Cookie Travel Self Defense Community Guidelines

The Tough Cookie experience should be fun and safe for everyone. In order to keep our community a safe and happy place, these Community Guidelines apply to everything you do on this Tough Cookie Travel website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This community and membership site is an inclusive and safe space for open sharing, listening, and support where everyone can be vulnerable with any fear of judgement, shame, or blame. No exceptions. We will uphold these boundaries, and support ALL members upholding these boundaries for themselves, at ALL times. You are always welcome to share as much as you feel comfortable, and trust that this community will have your back.

1. Embody Strength
Believe in yourself and others. In both inner (mental) & outer (physical) strength. Take ownership and responsibility for your power. Reject victimhood. Choose to see your worth. Find your inner Tough Cookie and let her shine through and identify with other Tough Cookies around you. Strength is a mindset.

2. Embrace Sensitivity
Value your softer side – your intuition, your caution, your compassion – and shift your mindset to view these traits as strengths rather than weaknesses. Identify and respect these valuable sensitivities in others as well.

3. Evince Truth & Justice
Speak your truth and stand up for yourself and for others. Have the courage to ask for help. Fight for everyone’s right to be heard and believed. Be so strong that you lift others up with you. All that injustice needs to succeed is for good people to do nothing.

4. Express Kindness & Joy
Always lead with love. Keep it respectful, positive, and open-minded. View humor as a healthy release and setbacks as opportunities. Welcome other points of view and strive to put yourself in others’ shoes. Prioritize peace over violence. NO BULLYING WILL BE TOLERATED.

Content We Do Not Allow On Our Services

We want our community members and users to be able to express themselves, communicate, and connect with each other through our Services, but we do impose restrictions on certain types of content which:

  • is violent or otherwise may offend human dignity;
  • is disrespectful, harassive, abusive, insulting, threatening, discriminatory, or which promotes or encourages racism, sexism, hatred, or bigotry;
  • is sexually explicit or above a PG-13 rating;
  • encourages any illegal activity including, without limitation, terrorism, inciting racial hatred, or the submission of a crime;
  • is defamatory or libelous;
  • relates to commercial activities (including, without limitation, sales, competitions and advertising, links to other websites or premium line telephone numbers);
  • involves the transmission of “junk” mail or “spam”;
  • contains any spyware, adware, viruses, corrupt files, worm programs, or other malicious code designed to interrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of or disrupt any software, hardware, telecommunications, networks, servers, or other equipment, Trojan horse or any other material designed to damage, interfere with, wrongly intercept, or expropriate any data or personal information whether from Tough Cookie Self Defense or otherwise;
  • infringes any third party’s rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights and privacy rights); or
  • depicts another person and was created or distributed without that person’s consent.

We here at Tough Cookie Travel will not tolerate any of the above types of content. We reserve the right to delete any posts or content that do not follow these Community Guidelines. Repeated violations of these guidelines will result in the immediate removal of your account.
